The Expired Sheep

The fictional film ‘Expired Sheep’ is a more surreal, avant-garde film. The title ''Expired sheep'' symbolizes, that sometimes people act like sheep, blindly following something. The word ''expired'' means in the film, that authorities tend to use people, who blindly believe in them, and when these people are not useful anymore, to get rid of them as expired items.
In this film, the theme is conveyed in a more abstract way, through symbols, and through the emotions of the characters. The theme of the film is that sometimes a person chooses the wrong path, without listening to his heart, his inner voice, his opinion, but following more to the opinion of the majority, of the recognized authority, in whom the majority believe. For example, a character, named William, listens to the thought, created by authority, that in order to live a happy life a person has to leave his negative friend, named Kate, in misfortune because any negativity brings more negativity into life. However, the truth is that the worst things in life can bring something good in the future. Perhaps, without negative experiences, it wouldn't be possible to get to know good experiences. And maybe without bad experiences, people wouldn't be able to cherish, appreciate the good things in their life. So, it, what looks bad actually can be good, and opposite as fake optimism can cause problems. And to leave a close person, who is important, although he is negative, is morally wrong and this kind of behavior also causes negativity. So, character William, without listening to his heart, but by listening opinion of the authority, chooses to follow the wrong truth afterward, which even though it may seem true, but it is not. So, by the film, it was wanted to show that the truth is not always noticeable. And only by listening heart, the real truth can be discovered. Sometimes what seems like evil is actually good and vice versa. For example, white color should be a good sign, but in the film authority, who is dressed in white fabric, isn't good, because it makes the character William follow a wrong path blindly. And character- a screaming stranger with black fabric, who looks a negativity sign, at the end of the film he gives something good.
Also, there is another character, named Lily. She is different from William's character. William is colder, with less emotion, he is obeying the rules, blindly follows authority. However, Lily doesn't follow authority's truth, but she listens to her heart and she chooses the good path. She is more emotional, more expressive, more rebellious. And another character- Lily's friend Kyle, with who she is traveling, is similar to her.
