The Eventologist

An ambitious Overseas Filipino Worker (OFW) in Doha, Qatar moves in the high-profile world of concerts and shows as an “eventologist” — the glamorous term for someone who organizes events. After a string of sold-out shows headlined by the biggest Filipino celebrities, the eventologist experiences series of misfortunes both man-made and natural, ultimately leading to his depression and sickness. When he finally regains his strength, go-getter eventologist attempts a comeback by mounting his grandest project yet: a documentary-drama film featuring real footage, hidden camera clips, and staged scenes — all inspired by his personal struggles in the richest land in the world - Qatar. This time around, will the eventologists' vision become a victorious reality or is he doomed to suffer a fate that’s worse than his scariest nightmare?

Director Biography - OSCAR DE JESUS YEMA

With more than two decades of television and film experience, Oscar Yema rose from the ranks from being a researcher, segment producer, writer, director to executive producer for both GMA 7 and ABS-CBN 2 - two of the biggest channels in the Philippines from 1992 to 2012.

In ABS-CBN, programs under his belt includes top-rated news of current affairs such as INSIDE STORY with Senator Loren Legarda, HOY GISING with Korina Sanches, COMPANERO Y COMPANERA with Senators Rene Cayetano, Allan Peter Cayetano and Pia Cayetano, MAGANDANG GABI BAYAN, with Former Vice President Noli De Castro, ASSIGNMENT with DFA Secretary Teddy Locsin Jr. and USAPANG BUSINESS with Ces Drilon.

In GMA Network, he handled shows such as BRIGADA SIETE with Jessica Soho, EMERGENCY with Arnold Clavio, IMBESTIGADOR with Mike Enriquez, SAKSI with Mel Tiangco and as Merchandising Producer of EAT BULAGA.

In 2003, he became Director Ellen Ongkeko's protege acting as Assistant Director and Line Producer for her films, ANGELS under Cinema One and STRAY CATS under Erasto Productions.

Other film project includes PARADISE - a 13-episode TV series shot in film produced by Stages Production for SINGAPORE Television.

Later on, he pioneered the relaunching of QATAR TELEVSION to HD Channel as CHIEF PRODUCER of the major station-produced programs.

Also in Qatar, he produced and organized big events for the Filipino community:

- Sarah Geronimo Perfect 10 concert at the West End Park
- Gary V Live Concert at Qatar Sports Club
- Yeng Constantino, Kamikaze Concert at Qatar Sports Club
- PBA Legends friendly game at Al Gharafa Stadium
