The Doll's House

After graduating from Bournemouth film school, Tim got his first break as a script reader for the Channel 4 sitcom department, then as a gag writer for 'The 11 O'clock Show' on Channel 4.
He went on to work in all areas of film production and post production. Over the years, Tim honed his skills as an editor and director, making several music videos for bands including The Creatures and Rebel MC. Tim has also made several short films including 'In Frank's Head' (2009), which was screened at the In The Palace Short Film Festival in Balchik, Bulgaria; and 'How To Avoid Hair Loss' (2012), screened at New York City Short Film Festival in 2013. Creatively, Tim’s style of work draws on his many influences ranging from Martin Scorsese to Billy Wilder.
The Doll’s House is a story rooted deeply in authenticity, which drove me to approach every creative decision with meticulous care and purpose. From casting choices to selecting the perfect locations and crafting the visual language through photography, every element was designed to feel as genuine and credible as possible. The belief was simple: the more grounded and true-to-life these details appeared, the more powerful and resonant the film would ultimately become.
The creative vision for the project drew significant inspiration from the masters of 1970s cinema—iconic filmmakers like Sidney Lumet, Hal Ashby, and Woody Allen. These cinematic pioneers exemplified how the most compelling comedy often arises organically from the complexities and nuances of everyday life. Their work showcased a profound ability to balance humor and drama, using authenticity as a foundation to create stories that feel both relatable and emotionally impactful. With this philosophy in mind, The Doll’s House aims to weave its narrative with a similar blend of realism and emotional depth, ensuring that its comedy is firmly rooted in the truths of human experience.
