Director Statement

The Doll’s House is a story rooted deeply in authenticity, which drove me to approach every creative decision with meticulous care and purpose. From casting choices to selecting the perfect locations and crafting the visual language through photography, every element was designed to feel as genuine and credible as possible. The belief was simple: the more grounded and true-to-life these details appeared, the more powerful and resonant the film would ultimately become.

The creative vision for the project drew significant inspiration from the masters of 1970s cinema—iconic filmmakers like Sidney Lumet, Hal Ashby, and Woody Allen. These cinematic pioneers exemplified how the most compelling comedy often arises organically from the complexities and nuances of everyday life. Their work showcased a profound ability to balance humor and drama, using authenticity as a foundation to create stories that feel both relatable and emotionally impactful. With this philosophy in mind, The Doll’s House aims to weave its narrative with a similar blend of realism and emotional depth, ensuring that its comedy is firmly rooted in the truths of human experience.
