The Doctor

Different children stay in the same ward. One completely went into the world of virtual reality of computer games and decided that he had ceased to be a man and turned into a Creature. The second, through the fault of his stepfather, was carried away by the ideas of racism. The third, a boy from a prosperous family, did not want to live and tried to step from the balcony. And the fourth one is just silent and hates everyone. How to reach out to their hearts, find the root of the evil that has settled in their souls; how to explain what is good and what is bad if their parents failed to do that - explain that life is worth living and appreciating every moment of it? Such are the tasks faced by Dr. Christophorov, a man with a big heart that aches for others. He questions previously made diagnoses, overcomes bureaucratic obstacles, his own problems and doubts, the resistance of young patients, misunderstanding of his loved one, the head of the hospital Margarita – and he does everything to help his little patients.
The film stars children with real diagnoses and children from Russian orphanages. It is based on real case histories of teenage patients of a psychiatric hospital.
This film was shot by an independent studio without state support.

Director Statement

"The happiness of the whole world is not worth one tear on the cheek of an innocent child."
But if these tears are a sea, the child has already turned into a teenager, and the culprits are
the closest people. The question remains: what to do? How to help those who stumble
lead your own children past the traps set by a difficult age?
Hear to understand. Return to save. Believe not to lose.
The problems of teenagers and their parents, neurosis, stress, exacerbation of mental disorders and hormonal surges of teenagers, misunderstanding by adults of their fear of entering the cruel world of adults, have always been relevant, but in our time, there are much more irritants, including virtual reality and the influence of peer bloggers for fragile souls. The acuteness of adolescents' reactions to these stimuli increased, which led to an intensification of the conflict between "fathers and children" at a new round of evolution. The hospital in which Dr. Christophorov works is not only a hospital, but also such a small world, a prototype of the big world in which we live.
