"The Days Until Tomorrow" is a documentary filmed over eight years that follows Brazilian poet Nívea Sabino. Fabiana Leite is a Brazilian filmmaker whose work stands out for its sensitive approach to often overlooked social issues. She holds a Master’s degree in Education from the State University of Minas Gerais, with research focused on the representation of women in cinema. Based in Belo Horizonte, Brazil, she is the founder of Produtora Sertania.
Fabiana is the co-director of the feature-length documentary Dois Sertões, which explores the life and work of renowned Bahian filmmaker Geraldo Sarno. The film was acclaimed at festivals and received the Orlando Senna Special Jury Prize at the Panorama Internacional Coisa de Cinema in Salvador.
She also directed the feature documentary Lírios não nascem da lei (Lilies Don't Grow From Law), which investigates the incarceration of pregnant women in Brazil. The film was screened at dozens of national and international festivals, including Mostra Tiradentes, Forumdoc, WomenCinemakers, Festival Cine América, and the Bayamón International Film Festival, where it won Best Feature Documentary.
