Gabriel Caro is a recent alumni of Chapman University's Dodge College of Film and Media Arts, graduating in Animation and VFX with an emphasis in Traditional Animation. He mentored under Retired Animation Veteran John Musker, Director of Disney films such as Treasure Planet, Moana and Hercules. In addition, he interned as a storyboard artist for an animated trailer to a documentary film, "26 Seconds", and has made many murals in the past for commissions on various schools in his hometown. The Dark Frog Experiment is his first short film in 2D animation.
I like the idea of using traditional animation as a tool for horror. You never see a lot of horror films in that medium. Which is a shame because it is perfect for it. Western 2D Animation has so much potential for mature storytelling, we just need to push for it more.
