Andrew Lyman-Clarke is a New York City-based filmmaker with a passion for consciousness, nature and psychedelics. He and co-creator Kim Tank have been developing The D3v1ce for over six years, envisioning how the show can inspire viewers and illuminate the human mind.
Lyman-Clarke's recent projects include the psychedelic comedy Day Trip (just completed), the documentary Island Lobsterman and the epidemic thriller Night Sweats. His films have played at festivals all over the US.
He works as a Producer/Director for JPMorganChase, where he directed a spot for Chase Sapphire. He lives in the suburbs with his wife and son.
The D3v1ce short was conceived as a Proof of Concept for the TV show of the same name. Our hope is that the film garners interest which leads to the full series getting picked up. We have constructed a whole world which follows Darren on his meteoric rise through the science and business worlds. The scanner, which turns out to be as influential as the wheel on human civilization, impacts many industries and lives over the course of the five seasons of the show.
The film also stands on its own as a short. We wanted to plunge viewers right into the excitement of the experimental brain scanner and the sharks that begin to circle around it.
