The Climax of "OCD"

This project was inspired by yours truly, as a person with OCD I want to advocate for the OCD awareness & mental health community.

OCD: Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder (OCD) is a chronic mental health condition characterized by uncontrollable, recurring thoughts (obsessions) and repetitive behaviors (compulsions) performed to alleviate distress & anxiety.

The Climax of "OCD" is an internationally recognized film and musical composition by award-winning director and composer Jose Angel. As a person living with OCD, Jose Angel uses his unique filmmaking background to raise awareness for the OCD and mental health communities through this project. THE CLIMAX OF "OCD" is a cinematic ambient/new age film score soundtrack exploring the filmmaker's personal battle with Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder. The climax represents a sonic translation of severe intrusive thoughts and the sinister anxiety & compulsions associated with OCD before reaching an emotional, psychological & mental CLIMAX point. Jose Angel uses this cinematic film score to channel his personal experience with OCD, serving as an advocacy piece for mental health awareness. The project acts as a sonic representation of what it is like to live with a chronic mental health condition—capturing the escalating anxiety, the cycle of intrusive thoughts, and the eventual release through a highly evocative, ambient soundscape. The soundtrack is heavily conceptual, serving as both an auditory expression of mental health struggles and a narrative tool for his visual work. Because the artist has openly discussed living with OCD, the music captures the peak of obsessive looping and mental strain, aiming to raise awareness for the mental health community.
