The Choice
When a mysterious stranger confronts a young woman about the choices that shaped her life, an ordinary encounter turns into a tense psychological confrontation about responsibility, dependence and the courage to change.
Through an intimate and symbolic dialogue, The Choice explores the moment in which self-awareness emerges and a person is finally forced to face the consequences of their decisions.

Stefano Cocozza is a film director and creative director specialized in cinematic visual storytelling. His work emerges from the intersection of minimalism, artistic direction, and a deep emotional exploration of imagery.
After years of experience within integrated communication agencies, he chose to pursue an independent path, shaping his own creative vision rooted in authenticity and a non-conventional visual language. His distinctive style is defined by the ability to translate complex concepts into essential, powerful, and contemporary visual narratives.
His artistic approach rejects aesthetics for their own sake: every choice of light, rhythm, and composition is guided by the desire to reveal the essence of a story, stripping away the unnecessary. In his projects, technique and sensitivity coexist, as do structure and intuition.
His directorial debut is The Choice, a short film aimed at raising awareness about violence against women. Through a restrained yet emotionally intense visual language, the film explores the psychological and human dimensions of abuse, positioning cinema as a tool for reflection and social responsibility.
Alongside his directing career, he works as an audiovisual instructor, sharing expertise in editing and narrative construction, contributing to the growth of emerging creatives.
Through his creative studio, Light Purple, Stefano develops projects that merge strategic direction with cinematic production, aiming to create works that are not only seen, but remembered.
The Choice began from a vision that was already very clear in Giovanni’s mind. From our first conversations, I understood that this was a story he felt deeply connected to, and that his perspective would be the driving force of the film.
My role as a director was to support and translate that vision into cinematic language, preserving its emotional core while giving it structure and space to evolve on screen.
Throughout the process, Giovanni remained closely involved in every stage — from writing to post-production — ensuring that the film stayed true to its original intention.
The Choice ultimately reflects a shared effort, but one that is firmly rooted in a personal and honest vision about responsibility, emotional dependence and the moment in which self-awareness becomes unavoidable.
