Experiencing Interruptions?

The Bureaucrat

Death is a laborious process, and the transfer to the afterlife requires completing various forms and documents. This task is performed by representatives of the afterlife, known as the Bureaucrats. One of them is given the assignment of a pregnant woman who is about to get killed in a car crash. When he decides to do something to help her, even though this is strictly forbidden, he might face the consequences of his actions.

Director Statement

Throughout history, various personified forms of death have appeared in mythology, literature and cinema. They are usually portrayed as practically omnipotent beings, which have total control over human life. The motivation behind this film was to build a character who, despite having some control over human life, is nonetheless a simple cog in a larger machine, which he has no power to change or influence.

he Bureaucrat that tells the story of a worker, who is expected to be obedient and perform his assigned tasks dutifully - even though he is starting to consider them morally questionable. The film tries to convey his inner conflict and his need to go a step beyond his duties, under the fear of potential punishment.
