The Board Game

A group of friends plays a board game based on identifying the “bad one” among them. The rules are simple: identify the hidden villain in their midst and prevent them from winning by pretending to be “a good person.” But as the game progresses, the lines blur, and suspicion begins to seep into real life. Deniz, the husband of the married couple in the group, unexpectedly begins to gain trust in the game. While his calm demeanor and persuasive power reinforce his innocence in everyone’s eyes, he is actually the game’s “villain.” He takes his strategy further and further; not only does he win the game, but he also targets his own wife, Azra, and pushes her into a position of suspicion in the group’s eyes. As Deniz’s moves progress, Azra begins to realize that the dynamics of the game mirror her own relationship. Over time, memories of their past resurface in her mind; she realizes that Deniz has been manipulating her in a similar way for years. The game transforms into a reflection of real life, and for Azra, all the pieces fall into place. In the end, Azra, now seeing the truth beyond the game, exposes Deniz and ends their relationship. The game is over, but the true winner remains unclear: because while Deniz won the game, he lost his real life.
