The Blind

Everybody figured out what the dolls are holding- phone screens. Phone screens from which we can not be separated. The dolls represent living walking dead who absorb light coming from their phone screens with their blind and empty eyes. Aren’t they actually us? Lost in thousand colourful screens, hypnotized by sparkling lights and engaging commercials showing artificial reality while the real life just passes by . Do we see just like our blind doll, a sleepwalker in the world and don’t question what we are looking for in our starry sky, full of the light- Sun, with too little actual darkness. The poem wasn’t written in the time of infatuation with bits and bytes, in the time of video games and virtual friends, but it has found a role in our time as criticism of today’s society. The film tries to recreate the poem in real and intimate but still uncanny and brutal way to encourage the audience to think. The film doesn’t have an ending or even a beginning, it is just another warning sign pointing to the banality and shallowness of our society. The film predicts the ending but doesn’t dictate it. We are the ones who need to wake up and start to change. It is time to do that. Based on a poem by Charles Baudelaire.
