Ben Krueger is an aspiring filmmaker based in Nashville, TN. He has written and directed several short films through Belmont University.
In this adaptation of Anton Chekhov’s famous short story, “The Bet” captures an individual’s struggle and transformation through solitary confinement. Though isolated in the same room for fifteen years, the protagonist educates and expresses himself through art and music, leading to his self-actualization. Having experienced the effects of the pandemic, I hope this film conveys the theme of creative freedom through confinement and an appreciation for life.
