The Ballad of Cheap Burgundy
The pain of loss will lead you to push away those who love you. The comfort of wine and self pity is enough solace for a broken man.

Ryan Anderson is a lover of beer, food, and Films. For just shy of a decade, he has been running the rental department of a camera shop in North East Minneapolis. This is where he has helped countless photographers and discussed Cinema with several likeminded and interesting filmmakers. An admirer of interpersonal neurotics dialogue, Ryan's goal is to create films centered around the anxiety-paced discussions and hopelessly struggling relationships of depressed and broken individuals. The stories he dreams up will involve characters verbally picking each other to cruelly assert their fragile will.
THE BALLAD OF CHEAP BURGUNDY has been a film I have been trying to formulate for quite a few years. It wasn't until experiencing the pain from losing a loved one that I could put my past self-destruction into words. THE BALLAD OF CHEAP BURGUNDY is a personal experience that I fear most of us can relate to, whether it is seeing a friend drip down the vortex of depression or your own life story of pushing people away with self-medication.
