Director Biography - Vivi Varon

Vivi is a comedy filmmaker based in Los Angeles, known for directing sketch comedy with a cinematic edge, improv-driven mockumentaries, and genre-parody music videos that incorporate her background in choreography. She studied improv at The Second City Hollywood and comedy filmmaking at the Harold Ramis Film School in Chicago. A first-generation American of Sephardic and Mizrahi descent, Vivi’s Jewish heritage informs her screenwriting outside of her directorial pipeline.

Director Statement

In crafting The Asset, our aim was to create an international spy thriller that both honors and reimagines the beloved tropes of the genre. We drew inspiration from modern classics such as The Bourne Identity, the timeless allure of James Bond, and bold elements of Netflix’s The Gray Man.
