Director Biography - Peter Crawford

This is my first "serious" film, insofar as it had an actual budget, a full crew and SAG actors. I take classes in Santa Barbara City College's top-notch and inspirational Film Production, Film Studies and Theatre Arts programs. My aim is to move forward into ever larger projects, with the end goal being the creation of at least one, if not more, of those most blessed of all creations: a full-fledged feature film.

Director Statement

I wrote and directed this film as a satirical exploration of the confusion amongst older men as we deal with our fixation on younger women. Each side of the "argument" gets their own advocate, with the poor central character just trying to do the right thing which, it turns out, is not really all that hard to do after all.

As a side note, I had no intention of acting in this film. However the actor I had cast in the part of Garridan was exposed to COVID a few days before the scheduled shoot. So instead of disrupting everyone's schedules, I stepped in as the sacrificial offering, and spent many a subsequent day at the editing table berating myself for all the things I coulda shoulda done while at the same time immensely enjoying all the wonderful nuances the other actors brought to their parts. One of the hazards of the trade, I suppose.
