The Answer For The Future

Who is the future of us Black folk? Black Young People. Black Children. I investigate black youth in my physical and digital banners. How they see themselves and we perceive them within a world that often misrepresents or misunderstands them. Colliding or clashing with the perceptions of the social world. Talking about a past generations of black children and its connection to the present and future generations to come. The struggle of black youth in America and the generational change that happens and how the youth have to mold into the reality given. How the youth effects change good or bad, which is left up to the viewer. The importance of highlighting Black Youth continued legacies and how unprotected they are. In this work i’m examining the tension between care and neglect, imagination and reality, legacy and survival.
