Director Statement

The Accused Showed No Remorse tells the story of a woman who, amid the "Woman, Life, Freedom" protests, tries to save her child from an uncertain fate. The film unfolds during a time of political crisis, but focuses on a deeply human and familial experience: loneliness, fear, and the fragile bond between a mother and her son.

For me, this film is a response to the social reality in Iran, not through analysis or slogans, but from the perspective of a woman taking action against the gradual disappearance of her child. The camera follows her as she searches through streets heavy with anxiety and silence.

In making this film, I aimed to keep the narrative simple, human, and unadorned. I did not create a hero or pass judgment; I simply followed the story of a woman who, despite despair, still searches for signs of life.
