The 2021 volcano tectonic crisis in the Reykjanes Peninsula, Iceland

This documentary highlights an outstanding scientific expedition conducted in Iceland by a team of volcanologists from the University of Geneva. In March 2021, in the midst of the COVID crisis, the volcanologists were in a hurry on the Reykjanes peninsula to study the strong seismic crisis related to the spread of magma in the earth's crust. On the program: earthquakes, a historical eruption, sublime landscapes, and especially science accessible to all!

Director Biography - Giovan Peyrotty

Before launching his career as a filmmaker, Giovan spent seven years conducting geoscience research at the University of Geneva. His work took him across the globe, and it was through these field experiences that he found the inspiration to create SciencEscape. Deeply passionate about science education and communication, he firmly believes that documenting and sharing researchers’ journeys in the field is one of the most impactful ways to engage the public with scientific knowledge.
