Territory
"Territory" is a 90-minute documentary co-directed by Fathollah Amiri and Nima Asgari, and produced by Fathollah Amiri, which explores the life of the Persian leopard in Tandoureh National Park. This documentary, as the only project focused on capturing and installing radio telemetry on Persian leopards, pays special attention to the challenges and achievements of this important operation. In "Territory," viewers witness the precise and high-risk efforts of research teams to capture Persian leopards in the northeasternmost point of Iran. The documentary showcases critical and sensitive moments of this operation, demonstrating how the installation of radio telemetry aids researchers in studying the behaviors and movement patterns of this valuable species and implementing more effective conservation measures. "Territory" essentially represents the scientific research of Mohammad Sadegh Farhadinia, a PhD student at Oxford University, focusing on the conservation and behavioral studies of the Persian leopard. Interviews with him and other environmental experts in this documentary provide comprehensive information about the current status of the Persian leopard and the efforts made to protect it. The documentary also addresses threats faced by the Persian leopard, including habitat destruction, illegal hunting of its prey, and conflicts with local communities, highlighting the importance of protecting this species and its natural habitats. With an engaging and scientific narrative, "Territory" takes viewers into the hidden and mysterious world of the Persian leopard and aims to increase public awareness about the preservation and support of this valuable species. This documentary invites viewers on an unforgettable journey into the heart of Iran's nature with stunning visuals and impactful storytelling.
