Director Biography - Paul Liam Kerr

Cape Town born, UK based animation director P.L. Kerr makes his animated short film debut with Teddy on the Edge - his passion project, nearly a decade in the making. He is inspired by the confluence of cinema, animation, and music. When not travelling, he resides in London with his partner and young son.

Director Statement

Teddy on the Edge is the piece of work I'm most proud of and have put the most blood, sweat and (literal) tears into over my long career. I wanted to blend my love of characterful storytelling and cutting edge technology and so the film has been created using a combination of classic offline animation rendering techniques and Unreal Engine. It was also a collaborative effort, bringing together a tight team of talent from all over the globe to make the best of the post-pandemic slump to finally finish the project. We look forward to our film's reception and sharing its unique take on mental wellbeing as it is finally released into the wild!
