With a lifelong love for writing and movies, I naturally chose to major in film production at Southeastern University in central Florida. As a kid, I appeared in a couple of commercials and was in an acting troupe which satisfied my imagination and creativity. Quickly, my interests became more focused on the happenings behind the cameras than in front of them. In March of 2022, I made my directorial debut during my sophomore year at SEU with my short film Teddy.
The script for Teddy was one of my very favorites to write because of the juxtaposition of a stuffed bear and sci-fi type of twist. I've always been a Twilight Zone fan and wanted to have a story that seems to start off in one direction while ending up on the opposite end of the story spectrum. As a first time director, Teddy was such a calm, blessed and fun set. Even with over 45 set ups and 3 locations it was completed in less than 7 hours! I'm extremely proud of how well Teddy's been received at a multitude of festivals and the many wins including “Audience Choice” awards it's taken home. Teddy is a super engaging short film to watch no matter your age because you already feel like you know the little guy the minute he’s out of the box!
