Actor, director, and screenwriter Chad Hamel grew up homeschooled in Brandon, Florida. Though he initially began his entertainment career in theatre, he always had a strong passion for film - especially comedies - and plans to pursue a career in creating comedic films with heartfelt, Christian messages at their core.
“‘Technically Amish’ was created during what felt like a very hectic season of my life. I had so many homework assignments to keep up with, I was working a retail job four days a week, I had a girlfriend who wanted to spend time with me, I had chores to do at home. The world around me screamed ‘go, go, go’ and I felt like I never truly got the moment to rest. Jeb is a character I personally relate to, and I crafted the character and story around how I felt amidst the craziness of my life. What I find special about this story is that it not only promotes the idea of taking rest, but also to recognize that others need rest as well. I hope everyone is encouraged by this film to take advantage of the quiet moments in this loud world.
