Director Statement

The short documentary "Talk with Us" was awarded the Fundo de Arte e Cultura grant in Brazil and was shot remotely in 2020 during the pandemic. The whole project had to be re-structured in order to be made remotely and the production team developed mini-courses with videos and materials to support the participants with disabilities and their families on how to shoot with the highest possible quality. In the whole process, I worked very closely, albeit from the far, with every family and every person in the crew in order to realize my vision with utmost respect for the subject matter and those who agreed to be part of this experiment. The result is a pandemic film from a very unique angle and an ode to the lives of those whose voices are heard in the documentary.
