Take Out

A man spots an acquaintance while grabbing late night food from a diner and instead of indulging small talk offers the convoluted tale of deceit, cheating and crime he recently observed. Things go sour when the man suspects his acquaintance may have been involved.

Director Statement

Sometimes we need to take something to an extreme, to extrapolate beyond what is experienced, to better understand something: It’s a way of amplifying what is small and everyday. When we see something enlarged we can have a better picture of its everyday form.

This is how I make sense of a lot of what is happening around me. I take in so much of the absurdity of life and to make it palatable I draw it out into something grander and more operatic. Doing this simultaneously defuses and underscores whatever I'm considering.
