Take Care of My Johny
Johny, the only son of a devoted Lebanese family, marries his French fiancée, Eloïse, and prepares to begin a new life in France.
Filmed between Lebanon and France, the documentary observes two families navigating love, union, and separation, as Johny’s family travels to celebrate his marriage and returns home without him; reflecting a story familiar to many Lebanese families whose children were forced to build lives far from home.

I am a 20-year-old Lebanese audiovisual student from Serjbeil, Chouf District. I completed my secondary studies in 2023 at the Antonine Sisters’ School in Kfarchima before majoring in Cinema & TV at the Lebanese University, Faculty of Fine Arts and Architecture. I focus on human connections, social issues, and existential themes in anything I put my heart into.
This film was born from my heart, inspired by my own family yet reflecting a reality found in many Lebanese homes today. Johny, like many other Lebanese youths, found love and began a life far from Lebanon, a country that can no longer offer him the stability or hope he needs.
Take Care of My Johny is not a wedding film. It is a story of grief and enduring love, of family ties stretched across continents, of memory, belonging, and the bittersweet reality of knowing your future and homeland don't intersect.
The film captures the collision of two worlds, one fading, one beginning, and the fragile connections that remain. It is a love letter to my family and to all families navigating distance, change, and the hope that love endures, no matter how far we are from home.
