Death in Venice is a novel by Thomas Mann published in 1912.
It became a film directed by by Luchino Visconti in 1971.
One of the characters is the young Tadzio, played by Björn Andresen.
The director called him "the most beautiful boy in the world".
I wanted to return to the film's Venice locations to meet Tadzio's shadow..

Jeremy Niels Circus is a writer, director and scriptwriter.
After graduating with a degree in Applied Arts and training in drama, he began directing and set up "Les Saisons d'Arthur" ten years ago. He has also worked as a photographer for theatre and dance.
With a strong interest in fantasy, his favourite themes include a fascination for chiaroscuro and a strong taste for German Expressionism.
He directed a feature film, Quand je serai Grand, in 2016, as well as several music videos and more than a dozen award-winning short films around the world.
