Two.Five traces the arc of a friendship interrupted by a cancer diagnosis. The film is a conversation between two timelines — the one we lived, and the film we never got to finish.
As Dom moved through treatment and into remission, I started revisiting what we’d filmed. Fragments of the original project seemed to anticipate a future neither of us could have imagined at the time. Two.Five grew out of that strange overlap — not as a linear retelling, but as a reconstruction. A kind of meta-narrative, stitched from what we had and shaped by what we now knew.
This film isn’t a memorial. It’s a reflection. The old rushes, voice notes, shared texts. Footage from trips away, bucket list moments, hospital trips and scenes we never used — all resurfaced, often without knowing why. Just that it felt necessary. The original film began to echo his diagnosis in uncanny ways, and what started as a loose, half-finished experiment became a new kind of collaboration. A way to trace a friendship through its ruptures and repairs — to sit with this new paradigm.
This film became a way of staying close. A way of making sense. It’s a project held together by friendship, absurdity, grief, and time. It’s not about endings, but the strange continuity of things unfinished.

Tee Byford: Director
Biography:
Raised on a council estate in southwest London, Tee is a filmmaker whose work is rooted in community, culture, and human connection. A first-generation university graduate, he earned a First-Class degree in Design at Goldsmiths, developing a critical voice shaped by both resilience and instinctive eye for visual storytelling.
Growing up with dyslexia, traditional education was a constant challenge. Sensing he needed a different path, his parents worked hard to send him to a Steiner school - a creative, alternative environment where his visual thinking and emotional intuition could take root. That early exposure to embodied, non-linear learning profoundly shaped his creative process, and remains central to his filmmaking style today.
Artistic Approach

Tee blends social realism with cinematic lyricism, creating films that centre people and place with emotional clarity and visual care. His work explores themes of identity, cultural inheritance, and connection.
His films are both grounded and expressive - using carefully composed imagery, atmospheric sound design, and contributor-led storytelling to capture truth with beauty. He lets people speak in their own words, at their own pace, creating space for honesty and dignity.

Commercial Projects:
Alongside his independent work, Tee has directed films for Nike, Adidas, and EA Sports and Under Armour bringing the same attention to community, voice, and cultural storytelling. These projects have taken him into grassroots football movements, creative youth networks, and artist collectives - allowing him to scale his craft while maintaining a deeply human-centred approach.

I grew up where storytelling happened all around me. Being dyslexic meant I couldn’t always learn through words - but I learned by watching, listening, and feeling. That instinct now shapes my work. I make films that feel lived in, not scripted - films where contributors shape the rhythm, not the other way around. Whether I’m filming in a kitchen or on a pitch, I want it to feel trust, care and truth.
