You are going to see a film by Guy TRIER.
It is painting on silver film' Single 8 - Fuji' /, a series called: ' Moving Paintings''.

My name is Guy TRIER. I am now one of the few artists, aged 70, to continue to paint on Argentic Film' Single8' ( Fuji) /' Super8' ( Kodak) and,' 16 mm' ( Kodak). I paint by hand...without using any software (...!)

I started my work in the 1970s, after a stint in the Film Department, and the meeting of Philosopher Gilles DELEUZE, Psychoanalyst Jacques LACAN, in the Faculty of: Paris VIII Vincennes, in Vincennes (i. e. in the Bois de Vincennes, at the time...).

My approach consists in painting' Moving Paintings' ( Moving-Bild).
As a child ( 1960s), I had a small projector' 8mm' and, I did not need''Charlot'' films.
My grandfather, was a bit of a sculptor (like Tinguely) and collector.
He had many paintings (oil paintings, crazy and equally unknown painters)... and, I was exasperated that these paintings did not move, like my films of' Charlot'.
Simply, later, I decided to make Paintings that move (...).
As a result, and of course, most of my work is silent, with the exception of two others:
> Ulu Umil Eek' (this title, for conceptual reasons, is written in Maya-Elder...)
AND
> HANBLOGLAKA AND the Music From the Sky' (this title, for conceptual reasons, is written, in part, in Sioux Lakotas language...).

Since 1970, I have been painting'Moving Paintings' (...).
It's paint on silver film.
Painting on film' Single8' /' Super8' / 16 mm.
Moving Paintings'' in Black & White or Colors.
I do NOT use software...everything is hand-painted (...!).
My works are rarely sounded... but sometimes (...!), when the theme lends itself to it....
But achievements are ALWAYS self-produced.

Je me nomme Guy TRIER. Je suis, maintenant, un des rares artistes, âgé de 70 ans, à continuer à peindre sur du Film Argentique ‘ Single8 ‘ ( Fuji ) / ‘ Super8 ‘ ( Kodak ) et, ‘ 16 mm ‘ ( Kodak ). Je peint à la main...sans me servir de logiciel (...!)

Simplement, plus tard, j’ai décidé de faire des Tableaux qui bougent (…).
De ce fait et évidemment, la plupart de mes réalisations sont ‘ muettes ‘, à l’exception de deux d’autres elles:
> ‘ Ulu Umil Eek ‘ ( ce titre, pour des raisons conceptuelles, est rédigé en Maya-Ancien…)
ET
> ‘ HANBLOGLAKA AND the Music From the Sky ‘ ( ce titre, pour des raisons conceptuelles, est rédigé, en partie, en langue Sioux Lakotas…).

Depuis 1970, je peint des ' Tableaux Mouvants ' (...).
C'est de la peinture sur du film argentique.
Peinture sur du film ' Single8' / 'Super8' /16 mm.
' Tableaux Mouvants ' en Noir & Blanc où en Couleurs.
Je ne me sert PAS de logiciel...tout est peint à la main (...!).
Mes réalisations sont rarement sonorisées...mais parfois (...!), lorsque le thème s'y prête...
Mais réalisations sont TOUJOURS auto-produites.
