La Historia de Tilo aborda con delicadeza y simbolismo, el abuso sexual infantil. A través de la mirada de un niño con cabeza de maceta cuya planta revela y expresa su mundo interior, la historia nos sumerge en un entorno donde el silencio pesa más que las palabras. Una amistad inesperada, un acto de valentía y una flor que brota en el lugar más improbable abren la puerta a una verdad silenciada y largamente reprimida. ¿Qué ocurre cuando un niño finalmente se atreve a hablar?
Escuchar puede salvar una vida. El abuso puedo superarse y lo mas importante puede prevenirse.

The Story of Tilo explores the subject of child sexual abuse with sensitivity and symbolism. Told through the eyes of a boy with a flowerpot for a head —his plant revealing his inner world—, the film draws us into a setting where silence speaks louder than words. An unexpected friendship, a brave gesture, and a flower blooming in the most unlikely place open the door to a long-buried truth.
What happens when a child finally dares to speak?

Director Statement

Esta pieza para mi represento un reto técnico y artístico importante a nivel de realización ya que combinamos escenarios y personajes reales con personajes animados (niños con cabeza de maceta) que integramos en postproducción. Lo cual requirió de una Dirección muy precisa, la cual aborde cuidando muy meticulosamente los encuadres, las actuaciones y expresiones de todos actores (reales y animados) manteniendo el tono dramático que esta delicada temática exige. Tanto la puesta en escena como la fotografía están inspiradas en una estética visual contemporánea con una paleta tenue y desaturada que refuerza el tono emocional de la pieza.

For me, this piece represented a significant technical and artistic challenge, combining real-life settings and characters with animated characters (flowerpot-headed children), which we integrated in post-production. This required very precise direction, which I approached with meticulous attention to framing, performances, and expressions of all the actors (real and animated), while maintaining the dramatic tone that this delicate subject demands. Both the staging and photography are inspired by a contemporary visual aesthetic with a subdued, desaturated palette that reinforces the emotional tone of the piece.
