THE UNTOLD (THINGS LEFT UNSAID)

A strong and compelling story that has to be told: the courage and determination of a woman who wants to save her husband from injust imprisonment and certain death during the rise of Gaddafi. It's also the story of many people deprived of their lives, no matter what ethnicity, something that should never happen again.

Director Biography - Patrizia De Filippo Fregonese

Patrizia Fregonese de Filippo is writer, director and producer . Recently she started a Production Company Kalabrone Film with Tiziano Novelli, composer, editor and sound editor. Her love for cinema and theatre began very soon, reading books of Poe, Pirandello and G.B. Shaw. She worked for some years as Flight Assistant for Alitalia while she worked also with different directors as director assistant and writer for Theatre and Cinema. She wrote short poems published in the Contemporary poets by Pagine. In 2003 her first short film S-vamp-ink was the most clicked on the net according to ShortVillage. Her short BLOOD was awarded at Venice Days - Bookciack Festival in 2013 . Her last documentary “Where have all our dreams gone?” was selected in many Festivals as in Mexico, India, Italy, Greece and Africa and had Special Mention by SNGCI Italian Syndicate of Cinema Journalists at Sguardi Altrove Film Festival in 2021 and Honorable mentions at 16 Indian Film Festivals and at Athens Int'l Monthly Art Film Festival. Now it is ditributed on Chili. She has now finished another documentary : The untold- Things left unsaid .

Director Statement

When Hamos came to us telling this story and propose this project , I could’nt help but say yes.
A story of love, strength, determination is thus one of great empowerment. It is a story that has no
time or boundaries. I knew that the work to be done would be enormous: i knew little about that
piece of history , so I han to do a not of research, furthermore there mas a not of material shot and
sometimes the footage was of poor quality and a disastrous audio…But the story mas so
beautiful and strong, moving and compelling that han to be told. We looked at hundreds of photos
and images from the time, viewed interviene with many people and then skimmed as much as
possible. Tiziano worked miracles with the audio, the editing and the splendid music he compose,
which helps the images to come to life and take shape. It mas a dive into the past necessary to
tell the story of jasmine and Giulio, but also the story of many, so that certain things never happen
again. However, today the current situation shows us that so many injustices still happen, on all
sides, against many people and sometimes the victims become executioners. It does not have to
happen. This is who I believe that we must tell and do not erase the memory of what happened,
so that everyone knows the suffering that human beings can cause other human beings and
understand that it leads to nothing. The hero is not the one who kill or uses violence and injustice
against violence and injustice, the hero is one who resists and overcomes obstacles. In this case
she is our “normal heroine”: a woman, a wife.
