THE DARK AHEAD (Il Buio Davanti)

In his work Tobia Berti always puts at the center the study of light, coming in different forms of expression without regard them as an end but as a means to bring out the vitality of exciting things.
Born in Dolo in 1976, Tobia Berti still lives and works in the Riviera del Brenta. Its route starts from sculpture: after training at the Academy of Fine Arts in Venice, signing a long series of works, produced at solo and group exhibitions, symposiums and international competitions.
By training to look at things through the eyes of the sculptor, Tobia will find the essential features and enhances them in a play of light and shadows. In this sense the transition to photography is natural and in 2000 began the first approaches to what will become its predominant language.
From still life product to the advertising campaign, shot by the architectural portrait, it can be traced its distinctive “concrete poetry”, which looks at the vital essence of the subject and at the same time leave room for imagination.
He has worked mainly with companies in the world of design, interpreting the collection still life shots and settings, but also collaborating in the creative process of definition of the advertising campaign.
Prompted him to explore new languages also the need to give more rhythm to his narration, the will to tell more in less time. And in this sense the approach to the cinematic language has been a point of arrival.
The activity intensifies especially since 2007, with the production of several short films and promotional videos of the product.
