THE CONCERT OF THE WOODS

Once upon a time there was... a small school in a small forest.
The children of the PRIMARY SCHOOL OF THE WOODS OF Nerviano (MI) tell in music (with the original song "THE CONCERT OF THE WOODS") because their school has this name ... and because its students have a musical soul.
It is all due to a small gnome, who long ago got lost in this territory completely covered with woods, looked around in the middle of nowhere and began to tremble.
A gnome who is afraid of the forest? Yes, this is a strange story!
The forest, when you are alone, is scary, especially at night: you can hear all the noises, the sounds of animals, the wind that passes through the branches of the trees ... But the little gnome has a brilliant idea: he sings and ...you get rid of fear!
Soon she meets a little hare, also lost in the big woods and scared; so they decide to sing together and...magic! The strength of their sonic union defeats fear.
But in the big forest is also lost a child: then all three characters begin to sing together and ... Among the others... fear disappears. The whole forest becomes song and the little animals, out of their dens enchanted by the magic melodies, participate in the concert warbling and waving their arms.
Dawn arrives: the light and the sound atmospheres of the concert of the magical creatures of the forest envelop all the characters in a warm embrace: fear is definitely defeated and everyone lives in serenity.

Sono docente di scuola primaria, musicista ed appassionata di ICT.
Negli ultimi anni ho approfondito le tematiche legate ai Disturbi dello Spettro Autistico e ai Disturbi Specifici di Apprendimento sviluppando percorsi e strategie di apprendimento. alternative, con utilizzo della musica e delle ICT. Applico una didattica metadisciplinare per competenze, crossmediale e multisensoriale, con ampio utilizzo delle arti espressive e comunicative. Ho acquisito una ricca esperienza relativa alle attività didattiche di: Digital Storytelling, Realtà virtuale / realtà aumentata, Robotica Educativa, Coding, Modellazione / Stampa 3D, animazione teatrale e pratica musicale. La musica, l'espressione artistica e la multimedialità sono per me canali essenziali di comunicazione e modalità sistematica di approccio in ogni percorso educativo, ai fini di una didattica realmente inclusiva e motivante.

Director Statement

The original song "IL CONCERTO DEL BOSCO" was composed by the children (with the supervision of the teacher) based on the study on the structure of the Italian folk song and wants to represent in music the emotions expressed by the story.
It's a slow mazurka, structured on four 16 measures strophs, interspersed with a chorus with 8 measures doubled.
The minor key -C minor- of the verse was chosen to represent fear; in the last quarter of the verse the modulation in E flat major expresses the transition to the feeling of tranquility of the protagonists. The chorus is entirely composed in major key, to express the state of serenity achieved thanks to the sharing of the musical event.
