Director Biography - David Latreille

Born in the small, rural city of Lachute and raised on a secluded island in the woods. As a graduate in Fine Arts, I took out has a rendering assistant in Toronto before focusing on writing and directing my films. I currently live in Montreal, a bigger and noisier island.

Director Statement

For the last decade, my musically-charged stories have been screened internationally and gathered some awards along the way. While independently producing my films, I also created visual content for such collaborations with Zoe Duchesne, Forestare and David Spriggs. A few years ago, a public screening of my films was curated by Danny Lennon at the PHI Centre in Montreal. Mystifying women are always the focal point of my intricate stories. Remarkably heartwarming, Karine Vanasse narrates SCARLET, one of my most beloved short films. I AM A ROSE has now begun its run in film festivals world-wide.
