A man with a violent past living quietly as a welder near the U.S.-Mexico border is forced back into the life he escaped when his teenage niece disappears.
As he searches for her, he uncovers a brutal human trafficking network operating across the border. With the help of Maria, a wildlife researcher who discovers suspicious activity through her drone surveillance, and Frank Dalton, a retired sheriff with decades of experience, John follows the trail deep into the desert where old enemies, buried secrets, and a deadly cartel await.
As the violence escalates and innocent lives are placed at risk, John must confront the past he tried to leave behind in order to save his niece and destroy the network responsible before more victims disappear.

THE BORDER WELDER began with a simple question: what happens when a man who escaped violence is forced to become violent again to save someone he loves?
The story combines the world of the U.S.-Mexico border, human trafficking, and organized crime with a personal story about guilt, family, and survival. I wanted the main character to feel like an ordinary man carrying a dangerous past, because those are often the people who break the hardest when life gives them no choice. Civilization keeps pretending that evil arrives wearing a sign around its neck. Usually it arrives in a pickup truck, raising dust in the distance.
