Director Biography - Gabriela Nápoles

Nació en la Ciudad de México en 1976, se graduó como IQI en 2000 e inició estudios de cine en 2006. Durante los últimos 15 años ha trabajado como docente en escuelas como Pohualizcalli, PROCINE, Altra Filmica, Arte7 y Dragon Estudios. También ha trabajado como directora, directora de fotografía y editora en cine documental, de ficción y experimental. Es realizadora y fotógrafa en reportajes y contenidos para diversas ONG. Se encuentra filmando el documental “FENIX: la leyenda”, y en postproducción del documental “Portento” (Incubadora GIFF 2018, Plataforma MX 2018, Mic Género, 1er lugar 2018, Fictu Studio 2021, Walden 2021, Doculab 2022). Ha realizado más de una decena de cortometrajes de ficción y documental que han sido seleccionados en festivales alrededor del mundo. Recientemente dirigió la fotografía del documental "En camino a Leo" de Ana Bárcenas (FOCINE post 2024), del cortometraje "Bestiario" de Ishtar Yasin, del documental "Los niños de México" de Valeria Ariñez y Daniel Melchor y de "El alambre del dolor" de Eddy Tostado.

Born in Mexico City in 1976, she graduated as an IQI in 2000 and began film studies in 2006. For the past 15 years she has worked as a teacher in schools such as Pohualizcalli, PROCINE, Altra Filmica, Arte7 and Dragon Estudios.
