Director Statement

I first read TEETH between takes on the set of an Irish continued drama series I was working with Ciara on in 2023. I knew within the first minute of reading the script that I wanted to work with her on it.

I then met Stephen (producer) working together on a reading of a new play at The Bush theatre in London 2024, where he mentioned that he was looking for short film scripts to produce. I sent him TEETH and the rest was history. He loved the script just as much as I did.

The playfulness, the heartbreak, the innocence, the sense of family, the stark reality of the cost of living crisis, and proper Northern Irish hope and humour throughout it all. We got an incredibly talented and generous team together in a hot summer week in July and have all poured our creative souls and energies into creating this special film.

We hope you enjoy watching it as much as we enjoyed making it.
