TAP

Middle of the day. Sunlight. A familiar screen lights up.

Something kind. Something casual. Something sweet becomes something strange.

Not everything that finds you waits for the dark.

A quiet cautionary tale about attention, intuition, and the cost of giving too much too soon.

Set in the bright, ordinary light of day, TAP explores how easily trust can be given, and how quickly it can turn. With quiet suspense and a minimalist setting, the film captures the fragile space between feeling seen and being watched.

Director Biography - Zemario Sheppard

Zemario Sheppard is a visionary filmmaker whose work blends emotional realism with striking minimalism. Rooted in stories that explore connection, identity, and quiet transformation, Zemario often writes, directs, and performs in his own projects—crafting intimate, character-driven films that resonate with honesty and style. Drawing inspiration from modern voices like Issa Rae and fueled by a DIY ethos, his films often feature limited dialogue, strong visual storytelling, and music as a central narrative force. Whether exploring family tragedy (Piano Man) or romantic disconnection (Left on Read), Zemario’s work is grounded, culturally sharp, and deeply human.

Director Statement

As a filmmaker, I’m drawn to moments that feel both deeply personal and widely relatable—those quiet turning points where people realize something about themselves, about love, or about what’s been lost. My storytelling blends realism with intentional restraint: minimal dialogue, music as an emotional thread, and visuals that speak louder than words.

I often create solo—not out of necessity, but from a desire to fully immerse myself in the storytelling. Acting, directing, writing, even scoring—it allows the vision to remain intimate and intentional. Projects like Piano Man and Left on Read were born from this process. They’re deeply rooted in the textures of everyday life, while stylistically leaning into tones influenced by creators like Issa Rae.

Ultimately, my work aims to hold a mirror up to the viewer—to reflect a truth, a feeling, or a silence they recognize. I want people to feel seen, even in the smallest moments.
