TAMARA

Tamara doesn’t know the country she comes from – the socialistic GDR. It decayed the year when she was born. When her father dies Tamara and her mother are on their own. They depend on each other, but their needs are conflicting. The characters struggle for their relationships, which cannot be detached from the social developments in which the family arose, grew and disintegrated. Even though Tamara is now part of western lifestyle, when she returns, the post-socialistic phenomena of her hometown are more present than ever. Tamara has to face what she once fled from: her history. "Running away didn't cut it."
