James Beaman is an award winning actor, master theatre teacher, and director. His feature screenplay, "The Girl in Green," tells the true story of the infamous Helen Jewett Murder in 1830s New York. His short film script, "T," explores the shadow world of chemsex and the experience of an older gay man becoming hooked on crystal meth and sex. Beaman's dark comedy pilot, "Wisenheimer" is the Winner of the New York International Screenplay Awards 2022.
I am interested in using the film medium to probe the hidden corners of the secret, intimate lives of human beings. Who are we when no one witnesses us? I'm intrigued by solitary moments, visceral, authentic sexual expression, and the dysfunctional coping mechanisms we all share.
