Hello! I am Meghana Didugu from Hyderabad, India. I recently graduated with an MFA in Animation from the Savannah College of Art and Design (SCAD).
I enjoy pushing the boundaries of animation to create new and captivating visual styles by experimenting with different media and animation techniques. I am an animator and filmmaker who is passionate about storytelling. I draw inspiration from the world around me and my inner reflections. I want to keep my animation journey going forward by being the voice that brings stories to life, whether they are my own or someone else's.
When I’m not animating or drawing, I enjoy exploring new cafes and restaurants, baking sweet treats (for humans and dogs) and watching TV shows and movies!
My interest in animation began during my junior year of my undergraduate degree. My animation professor introduced me to experimental animation, which fascinated me. I was intrigued by the freedom of using various materials to achieve unique aesthetics. This led me to explore the history of animation, and I realized that experimentation has always pushed animation forward as an art form.
For my thesis, I aimed to create something experimental but wasn’t sure at first what the experimental aspect would be. I had a rough story idea, and as the project developed, I realized I wanted to merge different animation techniques and styles while maintaining a cohesive visual narrative. That’s how Symbiosis was born, driven by a passion to explore animation’s creative potential and craft unique, engaging visuals.
