Raha Euphoria is a Canadian commercial, music video and film director known for her work with a variety of brands, most notably: McDonald's, Spin Master, Manulife, Nestlé, RBC,TIFF, NYX Cosmetics and more.
Protégé́ of legendary directors, Director X and Director RT!, Raha has spent years learning from these iconic music video and commercial directors. She’s gained an impressive resume through her work on various music video sets for artists such as Drake, Sean Paul, Rihanna, Shawn Mendes, B.O.B., Michael Bublé and many more.
Growing up planning and performing in various talent shows and other theatrical productions, Raha has developed an innate connection with her projects through the inclusion of musicality and an empowering undertone for the underdog in all of her work.
Fellow Creative Director, Summer O’Grady and I wanted to create a fashion film where we could explore our weird and experimental imaginations by fusing inspirations from a collection of various fashion films, mainly inspired by Alexander McQueen and popular TV series, Dexter and tying it all up with a bow using one of Hip Hop’s legendary tracks: Simon Says by Pharaohe Moch. You don’t typically see fashion films fusing their visuals with hard core rap songs – we were immediately intrigued & wanted to create it!
With this project, we had the opportunity to brainstorm and collaborate with our entire crew on what creative ideas they wanted to explore (given their respected roles) that they typically wouldn’t have been empowered to pursue otherwise. Majority of our crew comes from a commercial background where creative liberties are limited & naturally, this became our creative release. With this project, we allowed ourselves the freedom to create something abstract that we’d not only be proud of but could also help us along in our careers while having fun filmmaking. We wanted a project that could be interpreted as a potential commercial, music video and/or fashion film and I’m proud to say that although we had more than our share of curveballs, we are all extremely proud of the outcome.
