Director Biography - Derek Evans

Evans was born in Northern Kentucky to Tonya Evans, who worked for an Investment Company, and Bill Evans, an Owner of an HVAC Business and a Pastor. Evans went on to study acting at Northern Kentucky University. Television Credits include: Recurring roles as Hopper on Being Mary Jane (BET) and Patrolman Roman Hicks on Black Lightning (CW), as well as The Resident (FOX). He has directed 3 short films: Heat Lightning, The Echo and Lonely Liberal Island, as well as 2 Television Pilots: Swiped (Grandline Productions) and Theory Four: Ripple, the first episode of an 8 episode Science Fiction Anthology Series he is Writing and Directing. Derek is also a mainstay Director for Respectful Productions, a Sketch Comedy Production Company which spans from Atlanta to New York.

Working with these ladies was an honor and a privilege. Tatiana and Sailor bring so much creativity in front of and behind the camera. Their passion and tenacity for Swiped made it a no-brainer to direct this film for free because they are undoubtedly going somewhere.
