Sweet and Tender Mancunian - an audiovisual pastiche
Celebrating Morrissey’s creative process is celebrating Manchester’s diversity, its “cauldron of cultures” feature. What better way to mount a short film on the mancunian 'Collage' enthusiast other than using the very same pattern?

In 2011, Arthur Caria visited Manchester and did some filming around the city during the English leg of Morrissey's tour. Seeing some similarity between Manchester's "cauldron of cultures" aspect and the established practice of collage in Morrissey's own creative routine, Arthur sought to weave a work that could be done according to these creative parameters, celebrating Morrissey and Manchester, but also being inspired by the modus faciendi of that famous Mancunian, and by the the avant-garde Collage Films of early 20th century.

Since 2011, Arthur Caria has built an extensive and well-received production in authorial experimental cinematography, promoted through his CLIPOEMS initiatives, focusing on video-poetic chronicles and short films.
Arthur Caria has a PhD in Languages at UFBA - Salvador, Brazil. He is also a musician and author.
Having worked with music and languages for most of my life (as a musician-teacher-writer), when I entered the sphere of film writing in 2011, I naturally did it via videopoetry. And, as I consider myself a chronicler in my music and literature, I naturally embraced the videopoetic chronicle. That's what I feel comfortable doing, and where I've been getting gentle reviews and honorable mentions, mainly in the field of contemplative film and minimalism. But when inspiration strikes what I really like is experimentalism without boundaries.
