Best Long Short
I am a young filmmaker, and this marks my first independent film debut. I'm also an activist, a performer, and a co-producer of a non-profit community arts festival in Israel. Currently, I am studying filmmaking in Jerusalem
The film was independently shot in May 2022 at the abandoned Mammilla Pool in Jerusalem. While the aftermath of the Balfor protests still echoes in the streets and hearts of me and those around me, it seemed inevitable: to gather the people around me and establish a protest camp with them - autonomous, genuine, cinematic.
The protagonist of the film, Soli, is in pursuit of harmony and distance from the sense of chaos and anxiety that the local reality provides. This is my first short film, and within it, there is an expression about the fire that remained with me from those days - when I wanted to love and rage intensely, to tell a story about a heroine who feels the burning pain around her like an overly hot sun.
