Director, Steve Blackwood is best known as an actor having featured in such films as Ed Gein, Machine Gun Preacher and Cedar Rapids. He has also appeared in numerous stage and television roles but is perhaps familiar to most for his 10 year tenure on Days of Our Lives as the bumbling Bart Beiderbecke. Now residing in Newburyport, MA where he both teaches acting classes and continues to act on both the stage and in film . Stuck is Steve's third film as Director after the award winning films; 2017 short "I Feel" and the 2019 short, "Meet The Author".
STUCK is an exploration of the sexuality of a middle aged couple and the deeper issues behind them. My intent was to make this a funny refreshing retro ( tribute to 60's comedy) look at real mid-life issues.
It was a joy to work with Broadway's ( 42nd STREET/ GAME CHANGE) Sandy Bainum as my Much better half. Although I have performed in studio films and network TV, creating my own films has been the highlight of my career.
Our last film MEET THE AUTHOR ( BOSTON INTERNATIONAL FILM FESTIVAL/LONDON SHORT COMEDY FESTIVAL) is a multiple award winner.
It would be a great honor to be chosen for your Festival.
