Experiencing Interruptions?

Stronger Than Yesterday

This song was inspired by my friend Kent Soper who is featured first in the music video. He still delivers his mail route even during treatment for stage 4 esophageal cancer. I asked him what motivates him and he told me his personal mantra is that he is stronger than yesterday and that it would make a good song. I then decided to interview people I knew had been effected by cancer. I interviewed over 2 dozen cancer fighters and their family and used the notes from their interviews coupled with my own feelings to write the lyrics to this song. I used their thoughts and experiences to consider what would be the best way to approach shooting a music video. I hired Vincent Pelina to bring the song to life in a music video that would pay tribute to real cancer warriors and real people who had lost someone they love to cancer. My hope is that this video will give encouragement,Inspiration and comfort to those who are dealing with the effects of cancer or any life threatening illness.

Director Biography - Phillip Enkey

Phillip Enkey was born and raised in a small town on the coast of North Carolina called Havelock. He was one of five young boys when his mother passed away in a tragic car accident. Phillip relied on music as a way to cope with the loss of his mother and the formation of his new family. Phillip found love young, meeting his future wife, Dani, at 14 yrs old. They dated exclusively through highschool until Phillip eventually left on a two year mission for his church at the age of 19. Dani wrote him every week and they married when he returned home. Much of his music is from falling in love as a teenager and getting through the pains of loss, depression and addiction with the help of his young love Dani and his faith. Phillip later learned that his deceased mother had given away a baby for adoption when she was 16, Phillip was united with a sister he never knew he had! Later his brother William Enkey came home after serving two tours in Afghanistan with wounds only soldiers can understand. This inspired Phillip to join the Army. Music from Phillip Enkey is born from love, inspiration needed in painful times and a resiliant spirit that has carried him through high highs and very low lows. His music is known for its positive upbeat and catchy romantic flavor. Anyone looking to add a catchy uplifting vibe to their day should start by listening to music born from the unique and inspiring life and story of Phillip Enkey.
