Strife

It is a film about the internal conflict of an adult man named Boris. The main character remains in his own apartment almost all the time. He has a training mannequin that is a companion to him. Hero and his mannequin translates to: figure of ego & superego. Boris relives his emotions and tension through physical activities and exaggerated behaviour towards the mannequin. Often in the aggressive manner. Man has heavily isolated himself from the outer world, focusing on his inner emotions. But when he’s about to exit his room, we learn that he has a dog. In the anteroom, he presses his face to those of enigmatic figure sitting on a chair, softly and gently. In the meantime, the arc with travel agency pops out. A young delicate woman flirts with a client on the phone, while a young little girl with a mom are waiting to be served. Little girl plays with a toy globe, that is a part of the travel agency interior decoration. Globe falls off of little girls hands, and now there’s a hole in it. Mother rushes her child to the exit, nervously. During all this Boris, taking his dog on a walk, meets his old pals. He lies that his absence was the result of trip to Norway.
Young travel agency worker still flirts with her client. She offers him the best offer that’ll ensure his comfort and relax without need to leave the hotel ground. Boris calmly smokes a cigarette, standing in front of a gate- lost in his own thoughts.
He finds a ball near his feet. Grabs it, rotates the ball in his hands looking at it, then fiercely kicks it across the yard.
