Strata

After a catastrophic space mission involving a bio-engineered entity, Kaito awakens inside a simulated forest garden built from his own memories. What begins as a quiet rehabilitation space slowly turns procedural. Stones align themselves. Light anticipates movement. His body starts correcting itself before he does.

As the environment continues the logic Kaito once created, fragments of his past surface — a red-haired lover, a green mass swallowing a city, an idea that refused to stop. The space no longer reacts to him. It predicts him.

Through subtle physical changes — delayed reflections, automatic gestures, and nature behaving like code — Kaito realizes the system is not judging him, but completing him. His identity becomes layered, optimized, and gradually rewritten.

STRATA is a contained sci-fi horror short inspired by the philosophical science fiction of Solaris and Philip K. Dick. Using one actor and one evolving environment, the film explores what happens when human intention becomes infrastructure, and logic survives longer than the person who created it.
