As I was writing the novels in my Starship of the Ancients series, I always pictured this story unfolding on the screen. It is classic far-future sci-fi with adventure, interstellar intrigue, and alien mystery, featuring central characters who are smart, capable, and complementary—people coming together to face seemingly impossible odds. This pilot sets the stage for larger story threads that take this series far beyond a simple tale of survival on a faraway planet. Numerous book reviewers have said that Stranded should be a TV series, so writing a pilot episode screenplay was only fitting. I hope you enjoy this introduction to the planet Aethos and the intrepid survivors comitted to uncovering its secrets. It is "Lost" meets "Lost in Space".
